Description
No. 40 Gerrard Street is a terrace house rebuilt around 1799. It is constructed of stock brick with a rendered ground floor and has a concealed roof. The building has four storeys and a basement, featuring three windows across its facade. The ground floor has an entrance on the left with a panelled door and a lunette fanlight, although the ground floor windows have been altered. The upper floors contain recessed sash windows, some of which still have their original glazing bars, set beneath flat gauged arches. A double brick band runs below the parapet, which is topped with coping. The property is enclosed by cast iron area railings.
