Description
No. 4 D'Arblay Street is a terrace house built around 1737. It is constructed of stock brick, likely refaced in the mid-19th century, and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a dormered mansard, with two windows across its front. To the right, there is a square-headed rectangular fanlight doorway. The recessed sash windows are set under gauged flat arches, and the building has a parapet with coping.
Inside, original features include panelling in the entrance passage with pilasters, which is complete except at the front end. There is an arched opening leading to the stairwell, which contains dog leg closed string stairs with turned balusters. The first-floor front room is panelled and has a box cornice. This house is evidently part of the same build as Nos. 2 and 3 D'Arblay Street.
