Description

No. 2, D’Arblay Street is a terrace house dating to circa 1737. The front is likely of original stock brick, with a slate roof. The house is three storeys high with dormers incorporated into a mansard roof. It has a two-window front. A square-headed doorway is located on the right-hand side, featuring a fanlight above. The upper floors have flush framed sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath flat, gauged red brick arches. The building has a parapet with coping.

Original interior features remain, including vestiges of panelling in the entrance passage, a closed-string dog leg staircase with turned balusters, and a cornice to the first-floor front room. The house appears to be of the same design and construction as Nos. 3 and 4 D’Arblay Street.
