Description

No. 3 D'Arblay Street is a terrace house built around 1737. The brickwork was refaced with mid-20th century stocks after damage from World War II. The building has four storeys and is two windows wide, featuring a square leaded rectangular fanlight above a doorway on the right. The recessed horned sash windows are set under gauged flat arches, and there is a parapet with coping. Inside, original fittings include a closed string dog leg staircase with turned balusters, a passage entrance with panelling, pilasters, and a box cornice, as well as an arched opening to the stairwell. This house is evidently part of the same build as Nos. 2 and 4.
