Description
This is a row of early 19th-century houses, altered in subsequent periods. Numbers 65 to 79 form the west side of Elizabeth Street in the City of Westminster. The houses are three storeys high, with four storeys to numbers 65, 71, and 73. Most have two windows on each side, although the brick and stucco finish varies - numbers 75 to 79 are entirely stuccoed, while others retain brickwork. Shops occupy the ground floors of numbers 65, 73, 75, and 79. The remaining houses have arched entrances topped with fanlights, and panelled doors. A cast iron balcony with an anthemion pattern is present on the first floor. The windows are sash windows with plate glass under gauged heads. Numbers 67 and 69 have been partly reconstructed. Some houses have a stucco cornice, though this is simplified. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
