Description
This is a mid-19th century corner block of terraced houses located at 24 South Eaton Place, and including numbers 24 and 26 Chester Road. The building is constructed of stucco, with roofs that are not visible. The facade facing South Eaton Place is four bays wide, with four storeys plus a basement. A projecting, pilastered Doric porch is situated in the third bay from the left, leading to a panelled front door. The ground floor features channelling, while the first floor has a cast iron balcony. The first-floor windows are pedimented, the second-floor windows are corniced, and all windows are architraved above the ground floor. Rusticated quoins are present. The return elevation to Chester Row, which originally formed a balanced composition with numbers 24 and 26, appears to have been simplified at number 26. Cast iron area railings are also a feature of the building.
