Description

TQ 3080 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER WELLINGTON STREET, WC2 72/14 15.1.73 Nos. 41 and 43 G.V. II Market shops and offices. c. 1871-72 Bedford Estate rebuild. Red brick with painted stone (or stucco) dressings, slate roof. Early Georgian style. 4 storeys. 3 windows wide. Ground floor has office door to right and shop door to left flanking barred display window with panelled stall riser, complete within framework of Doric pilasters supporting entablature-fascia. Upper floors have recessed sash windows in architraves, those on 1st floor with full entablatures and the 2nd and 3rd floor windows segmental headed with stepped keystones. Scrolled panel linking 1st and 2nd floor windows. Main cornice above 2nd floor. Crowning cornice.
