Description
No 32 Tavistock Street is a terrace house with a shop, built around 1835, likely under the supervision of Samuel Beazley to match the design of Nos 20 to 26 on Wellington Street. The building is constructed of stock brick and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys high and is one window wide. The ground floor shop front has been altered in the mid-20th century but still retains its wooden frame with an entablature-fascia. The upper floors are fitted with recessed glazing bar sashes, which are set under flat gauged arches. There is a plain stucco plat band at the first floor level, and the rendered parapet adds to the overall appearance. The first floor also features an elegant cast iron balconette.
