Description
Numbers 15 to 21 form a row of early 19th-century terraced houses with area railings, located on the west side of New Road. The houses are constructed of stock brick with coped parapets, and have basements as well as three storeys. Nos 15 and 17 have slate mansard roofs, while the roofs of Nos 19 and 21 are not visible. Nos 15 and 17 also feature dormers and stucco bands at the sill height of the first floor. Each house has two windows, with sash glazing, approximately half of which have glazing bars. The doorcases are generally round headed and rusticated, featuring vermiculated stone quoins and mask keystones. These doorways are topped with fanlights and include six-panelled doors, although No. 15 has a plain round headed doorcase, fanlight and a more modern door. Iron area railings run along the front. Numbers 15 to 21 are part of a group with Nos 25 to 47, and, along with Nos 4 and 6 Nelson Street, numbers 15 and 17 form a further group.
