Description
Number 11 is a mid-19th century house located on Consort Road in Southwark. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring double and triple headers in some areas. The gable-facing roof is covered with slate and has deep bracketed eaves. The house is two storeys tall, with a single-storey entrance porch to the left that has a brick parapet and a dentil cornice.
The façade has a three-window range, with all openings designed as flat-arched. The entrance features a flush architrave and cornice, with jambs styled as half Tuscan pilasters that support an entablature lintel. Above the entrance hall, there is a finial visible over the parapet. The ground-floor windows have architraves and cornices, with 6x6 sash windows that are of an original design, complete with projecting sills and gauged brick lintels. The first-floor windows are adorned with fretted architraves and ornamental cresting.
At the rear of the cross gable, there are stacks, with a pair of stacks on the right return and one first-floor window situated between them. The interior has not been inspected.
The original front wall, which is made of brick in modified Flemish bond, features a battered design with pilaster strips and a dentil cornice below the coping, although it is now partly demolished. This building forms part of a group with Nos 5-9 (odd), 13, and 15, which are of group value.
