Description

Number 13 is a mid-19th century house located on Consort Road in Southwark. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring double and triple headers in some areas. The roof is gable facing and covered with slate, complemented by deep bracketed eaves. The house has two storeys and includes a single-storey entrance porch on the left, which has a brick parapet and a dentil cornice.

The façade consists of three windows, all with flat-arched openings. The entrance features a flush architrave and cornice, with jambs designed as half Tuscan pilasters that support an entablature lintel. The ground-floor windows have architraves and cornices, with two of the right-hand windows being 12-pane sashes with margin lights and projecting sills topped with gauged brick lintels. The first-floor windows are adorned with fretted architraves. At the rear of the cross gable, there are stacks, with a pair located on the right return and a first-floor window situated between them.

The front wall, which is part of the original design, is made of brick in modified Flemish bond and features a battered design with pilaster strips and a dentil cornice below the coping. This building forms a group with Nos 5-11 (odd) and 15, contributing to the character of the area. The interior has not been inspected.
