Description
Number 12 is a house built around 1800, featuring red brick in Flemish bond and a slate roof. It has a brick dentillated band at the first floor. The house is two storeys high with a two-bay front. The entrance includes a deeply recessed six-panel door with a traceried fanlight, horizontally fluted reveals, and an archivolt, flanked by a pair of Tuscan columns and a traceried arch above a semi-circular headed doorway. To the left, there is a glazing bar sash window with a segmental head and a roundel in the spandrel, set within a segmental blank recess. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows, each within wider fluted surrounds that have squares at the corners and delicate shallow wrought iron balconies. In front of the house, there are three cast iron fluted columns with mushroom knops and chains, made by Gibson of Stamford. The property also includes cast iron railings.
