Description

These are five terraced houses located on the east side of Addington Square, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with stucco facades. The roofs are slate, hidden behind parapets. Each house has three storeys over a basement and two windows wide. The ground floor is faced with stucco and treated as banded rustication. The entrance has a fanlight above the door, and a window with a distinctive 6x6 sash design to the right. All ground-floor openings are round-arched; the other windows have flat arches. All windows are framed by moulded architraves. The first-floor windows are tall, floor-to-ceiling sashes with a 6x9 window design. The second-floor windows have 6x6 sashes, each with projecting sills. A continuous entablature runs above all the houses. Party wall stacks are visible. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses are part of a larger group which includes numbers 7-11, 13-20, 33-42, 47 and 48.
