Description
No. 30 Urlwin Street is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It features stucco that has been scored to imitate ashlar stone. The building has a hipped roof covered with slate and boxed eaves. It stands two storeys tall over a half basement, with all windows being flat-arched. The upper windows have six-over-six sash bars in their original design, while the basement window to the right has three-over-three sashes that are also authentic. The arrangement of the openings is slightly off centre in relation to the rest of the façade. The entrance is round-arched, topped with a decorative glazed overlight, and is accessed by a short flight of steps. The door is of late 19th century or early 20th century design. There is a stack on the left return. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a strong group of buildings, consisting of Nos 24-30, which all conform to a single architectural type.
