Description

This is a mid-19th century house, originally designed as a pair and now subdivided into two dwellings at 24A and 24B Urlwin Street, Southwark. The exterior is faced with stucco, scored to resemble ashlar blocks. It has a slate roof with boxed eaves. The house is two storeys high over a half basement. All windows are flat-arched and retain their original six-by-six sash bars, except those in the basement which are three-by-three. The placement of these windows is slightly offset from the central axis of the façade. A round-arched entrance, with a decorative overlight, provides access via a short flight of steps to a four-panel door of original design. A chimney stack is located on the left return. The interior has not been inspected. The house is part of a well-preserved group of houses of identical design at numbers 24 to 30 Urlwin Street.
