Description

Numbers 17-20 form a terrace of four houses dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of yellow brick with a low-pitched slate roof hidden behind a coped parapet. Each house is three storeys high, with two bays (three openings on the ground floor), except for number 18, which is three bays wide. Number 17 has a single-storey extension to the right side. The ground-floor openings are round-arched; those at numbers 19 and 20 have a stucco band at the arch’s apex. The original doors feature fluted Tuscan quarter columns, a mutule cornice, and a plain fanlight. The doors at numbers 17 and 18 are original, with plain timber surrounds, plain fanlights, and cornice heads. The first- and second-floor windows have flat, gauged-brick arches, and all are sash windows with glazing bars. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. Attached area railings are also part of the listing.
