Description

This building, located at 18, 19, and 20 Montpelier Row, dates to around 1820. It comprises three sections: a two-window block on the left (Nos. 18 and 19), a four-window block on the right (No. 20), and a recessed two-storey entrance link between them, as well as a recessed two-window entrance wing to No. 20. The frontages are stuccoed and feature bands, with tile bands at first-floor level on the right-hand block and a band at first-floor sill level on the left. Each pediment contains a lunette; the one shared by Nos. 18 and 19 is split between them. The sash windows of Nos. 18 and 19 retain glazing bars and bracketed sills, and are approached by rebuilt steps leading to six-panel doors with patterned rectangular fanlights in moulded architraves. No. 20 has a later four-panel door with a plain fanlight, set within a round-headed architrave. Nos. 1 to 16 and Nos. 18 to 20 form a group.
