Description
Anglesea Lodge, located at No. 3 John Street, dates from around 1830. This two-storey building features three windows and is finished in stucco. It has two projecting wings, each with one window; the western wing projects more than the eastern. Between the wings is a narrow recessed window bay. The building is adorned with pilasters on either side of each wing and has a stringcourse running along the façade. The eaves cornice is bracketed, and the slate roof has two low-pitched hips. The windows are framed with architrave surrounds, with the central first-floor window being round-headed and flanked by pilasters, topped with an architrave. Below this window is a recessed rectangular panel. The round-headed doorway features a semi-circular fanlight, and the glazing bars are intact. Anglesea Lodge is part of a group with Nos 2 to 7 John Street.
