Description

Holland and Company's Distillery is an early 18th-century building that has undergone alterations. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and features four windows on one side and three on the other. The structure is made of brown brick and has a band at the second floor. The roof is high-pitched and hipped with four ridges, which have been renewed in modern tiles and are mostly concealed by a rebuilt parapet. The windows have gauged flat brick arches, with some being late 18th-century sashes that include glazing bars, early 19th-century one-bar casements, and some circa 1900 sashes with decorative bars, all set in original near-flush box frames.

On the ground floor at the east end, there is a double door and a carriage entrance framed in late 19th-century stonework, featuring a dentil cornice and an inscription in a small pediment above that reads: "Established 1779. Holland and Co's Distillery and Bonded Store." At the west end, there is a wood entablature with a bracketed cornice, supported by scrolled consoles flanking a door and window. The back elevation is irregular with four windows, which have been replaced but are set in old flush moulded frames under segmental brick arches.
