Description
No 355 on Clapham Road is a substantial early 19th century house, part of a pair, although the other house has been significantly altered and is not of special interest. The building has three storeys and a basement, featuring three windows. It is constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet and a stone impost string at the arcaded ground floor. The basement is stuccoed. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set under gauged brick arches, which are round on the ground floor. There are five steps leading up to the entrance door, which has four fielded panels and two beaded panels, flanked by engaged quasi-composite columns, topped with a decorative head and a patterned fanlight. There is a later 19th century extension on the left, designed in a similar style but rising to four storeys.
