Description

This is an early 19th century house located on Clapham Road. Originally a five-window, three-storey building with a basement, a further storey was later added over the three right bays. The two left bays were built as a separate unit, but the two sections are now unified by a stone modillioned eaves cornice. The building is constructed of stock brick with gauged brick window arches; those on the ground floor are right round-headed and set within round-arched recesses, featuring a stone impost band. A stuccoed bow projection with three windows is present on the left ground floor, accompanied by an wrought iron railing above. Six steps lead to a half-glazed double door, which has a cornice head and a plain fanlight and is located within a prostyle porch featuring square columns with anthemion patterned capitals and a dentil cornice.
