Description

This is an early to mid-19th century building on Clapham High Street, appearing originally as a pair of properties. It is two storeys and has a basement, with space for four windows. The building is slightly set back from the street in the outer entrance bays. It is constructed of painted stock brick with a parapet, and features a band at the level of the first-floor window sills and the ground-floor impost. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor windows are under flat gauged brick arches; the ground-floor windows are under round arches, with later windows containing smaller panes. A stuccoed plinth is present at basement level. The entrance on the left has a door of four fielded panels and two flat panels, topped with a cornice and a patterned radial fanlight. This is set within a prostyle Roman Doric porch, which has side steps. The entrance on the right has been removed.
