Description
This is a terrace of eight cottages, numbered 57 to 64 Cardigan Street, built in 1913-14. Designed by Adshead and Ramsey, the terrace is symmetrical, with two central houses projecting slightly and a pediment above them featuring a feather design. The flanking pair of houses step back, and the outer two are aligned with the main buildings. The cottages are constructed of yellow stock brick, with a stucco key-patterned band at sill level of the first floor. A dentil cornice and blocking course run along the top of the building. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath gauged brick arches. Each cottage has a trellised wooden porch with a lead canopy; the porches of the central houses have swept roofs.
