Description

49 and 51 Sancroft Street are an early 20th-century building on the south side of Sancroft Street, part of the Duchy of Cornwall Estate. The building is a three-storey block constructed of stock brick, featuring a modillion cornice and a blocking course. A second-floor cill band is decorated with a Greek key pattern. The sash windows have glazed bars, with the first-floor windows being long in design and incorporating small, patterned cast iron balconies, including a long balcony across the four central windows. Plain cast iron guards are present on the second floor, while the ground floor windows are topped with keystones. The entrance features two half-glazed doors with attached Ionic columns and entablatures. Low cast iron forecourt railings complete the facade.
