Description

Kennington Palace Court is a block of flats built around 1925 for the Duchy of Cornwall. It has a U-shaped design with wings extending on either side. The building is three storeys high and constructed of stock brick with stone quoins, and a stone cill string on the second floor. A modillion cornice tops the walls before a parapet and a steeply pitched, hipped roof covered in pantiles, punctuated by a few flat-headed dormers. The windows are wide-proportioned sash windows with glazing bars, set within gauged flat brick arches. Entrances are formed by half-glazed doors within moulded architraves, topped with console bracketed cornices. A central Doric porch sits within the seven-bay middle range, with the three central bays projecting under a deep, segmental pediment.
