Description
Woodstock Court, built in 1914 by Adshead and Ramsey for the Duchy of Cornwall estate, is a two-storey quadrangle designed in a late Georgian style. The building is constructed of stock brick and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof covered with modern pantiles, along with deep eaves soffits. It has gauged flat brick arches over sash windows that include glazing bars. The front facade consists of 15 bays, with projecting ends and a three-bay center supported by paired, attached columns featuring feather and whorl capitals, which hold up an enriched entablature. A bell cupola sits above the entrance arch. Nos 2 and 20 are shops located at the north-east and south-east corners, designed in a period style. Inside the quadrangle, there are raised attics on either side with four round windows. A Tuscan loggia encircles the building, with a balcony above. The doors are six-panel with moulded architraves, and those on the first floor have console bracketed cornices. A central fountain features a lead figure of a boy.
