Description
No. 200 on Kennington Lane is a corner building that was part of the Duchy of Cornwall development completed in 1913-14 by architects Adshead and Ramsey. It features four bays on both Kennington Lane and Courtenay Street, with a three-window concave quadrant angle. The building stands three storeys tall and is constructed of pink brick with Roman cement dressings. Notable architectural details include a balustraded parapet, bands at the second floor, and cills at the first and second floors. The ground floor is arcaded and has an impost band. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set under flat red gauged brick arches, except for the central taller tripartite window on the first floor that has an elliptical patterned head and an incised oval panel above it. The first-floor windows, except in the quadrant, have louvred shutters and open onto a full-width patterned cast iron balcony. In the quadrant, there is a central prostyle pedimented porch with columns that feature Prince of Wales' feather capitals.
