Description

This is an early to mid-19th century pair of buildings located on the south side of Brixton Water Lane. Each building stands two storeys high, with a main block containing a single window and a slightly recessed lower wing also containing one window. Further one-storey service wings extend beyond. The buildings are characterized by their wide proportions and stucco exterior, featuring incised lines. Pilasters at the angles and the centre of both the main block and the wings support entablatures. The roofs are low-pitched and slate-covered, with a dividing chimney wall. The windows are sash windows, some with glazing bars or margin lights. Each wing features a four-panel door recessed within a banded rusticated surround, topped with a cornice and blocking course and accompanied by a rectangular fanlight.
