Description
This is an early 19th-century house composed of a symmetrical design with two houses at each side, framing a central block topped with a pediment. The property has two main floors, an attic, and a basement, originally with two windows to each section. The exterior is stock brick with stucco detailing including a frieze, cornice, and a blocking course on the sides, and a plain cornice below the pediment featuring a lunette. The roof is slate in a mansard style, with dormer windows. The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, with rustications creating the appearance of voussoirs around the round-arched ground floor openings. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with the first-floor windows set beneath flat, gauged brick arches. The entrances consist of four steps leading to five-panel doors, featuring fluted quadrant pilasters, a corniced head, and a patterned fanlight. Original cast iron hand and area railings, with spearhead standards and pinecone finials, are present; the railings at number 45 have been removed.
