Description
66 and 68 Park Hill is a mid-19th century pair of houses, each two storeys high with a basement and two windows. They are constructed of stock brick, featuring an incised stucco basement and a stucco frieze. The buildings have fairly low pitched hipped slate roofs with deep eaves soffits and a central chimney wall, along with one dormer on each. The outer entrance bays are slightly set back, and there are paired pilasters in the centre, with a single pilaster at the angles of the centre block, all having stuccoed capitals to the frieze. The sash windows are adorned with delicate glazing bars; on the first floor, they are set in eared moulded architraves, while on the ground floor, they are within stuccoed panels that feature console bracketed cornices and pediments, along with projecting sills that have ornamental cast iron guards. Access to the houses is via five stone steps leading to fancy half-glazed four-panel doors, which have plain fanlights above them, all situated in projecting classical stuccoed porches with round-arched openings.
