Description

No. 180 Kennington Park Road is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement, featuring four windows. The right entrance bay is slightly set back, and there is a coach-house to the right. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course. It has a slated mansard roof with two dormers, a hipped section on the right, and a chimney wall at the left end. The windows have been replaced, with those on the second floor featuring glazing bars, while the first floor has long casement windows that open onto a full-width ornamental cast iron balcony. The window arches are made of gauged brick and are stained red. The basement is stuccoed, and there are eight rebuilt steps leading to the entrance door, which has six fancy panels and is set within a prostyle wood porch supported by fluted columns. The porch features a frieze above with guttae, wreaths at the corners, and a mutulated cornice. A modern door and windows have been inserted into the segmental-arched carriage opening on the right, and there is a Tudor arched window above.
