Description
The gate piers and walls to the Bishop's House were built around 1895, likely designed by the architect Richard Norman Shaw, who also designed the Bishop's House. They are constructed of brick in English bond with artificial stone dressings. At the west end of the site, there are a pair of square gate piers on a brick plinth, each topped with a moulded capstone that ends in an acanthus ball finial. To the right, there is a round-arched opening featuring a keystone and voussoir made of artificial stone. The wall is divided into twelve bays by setback pilasters and has a continuous parapet, with two additional bays at the east end. This structure forms a group with the Bishop's House.
