Description
Vauxhall Manor School Annexe is a late 19th-century building constructed between 1897 and 1900, as indicated on the left pediment. It is a romantic example of London County Council Board School architecture. The structure is large and symmetrical, consisting of seven sections. The central block features five bays and three tall storeys, topped with a hipped tiled roof that includes three small lucarne-like aria stones. On either side, there are six-storey staircase towers with ogee pyramidal roofs that rise to a terrace, which is crowned by an octagonal drum and a tall dome with a spike and vane. The intermediate sections are five storeys high, with four closely-set windows beneath a scalloped parapet, leading to the pedimented end pavilions, which are three storeys tall and adorned with ornamental panelling in the tympanum.
