Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of four cottages located on the north-west side of Hercules Road. Each cottage is two storeys high with a basement, and has two windows. The cottages are constructed of stock brick with a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, and the basements are stuccoed. The first-floor windows have gauged brick flat arches. The ground-floor openings have rendered lintels with cornices. Original long casement windows, fitted with margin lights, open onto cast iron balconies featuring palmette patterns. Six steps, with wrought iron rails, lead up to the doors, which are of two, one, or two panels, set within stuccoed recesses.
