Description

This is a row of cottages located on Rye Road in Sandhurst, dated 1861. The front elevation is cement rendered over brick, with red brick in English bond on the remaining fronts, set on a sandstone base. The cottages have a tiled roof with two brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys high with an attic, and have four windows. Each cottage has a gabled end, with kneelers, and a central shaped gable to the attic. There is a cogged eaves cornice and lions head mask guttering. The windows are 19th-century iron casements with elaborate patterns, and a string course runs along the front. The doorcases are simple. The interiors feature wooden winder staircases, wooden lintels to doors, and four-panelled pine doors.
