Description
Little Crouch is a house that has been subdivided, primarily dating from the 18th century but incorporating some late 16th century beams. The ground floor is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while the first floor features one course of curved tiles alongside two courses of plain tiles. The side elevation is weatherboarded, and the building has an old tiled roof with end brick stacks, one of which is external. It stands two storeys high and has three windows: one early 19th century 20-pane sash window and two 20th century aluminium casements. The central doorcase is topped with a gabled weather hood supported by brackets. There is a lean-to on the side that also has a 20-pane sash window.
Inside No 1, there is a large open fireplace with a wooden bressumer, a wooden cross beam featuring a lamb's tongue stop, and a two-panel door typical of the 18th century. The kitchen includes a roll-moulded beam with a run-out stop, which is likely not in its original position, along with plank doors. No 2 has 18th century two-panel doors with L hinges, chamfered 18th century beams, and a 19th century kitchen range.
