Description
Nos. 36 and 38 Hercules Road, built in the early to mid-19th century, form a pair of three-storey buildings with a basement, each featuring two windows. The buildings are constructed of stucco and include a cornice, blocking course, and a band at the first floor. No. 38 has incised lines on its façade. The second floor has recessed sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor features long casement windows with margin lights that lead to cast iron balconies with a palmette pattern. No. 36 has a similar balcony for its ground floor sash windows, along with a six-panel door framed by a moulded architrave and cornice consoles. No. 38 has a small modern entrance extension on the left and two renewed ground floor sash windows.
