Description

The terrace at 27-35 Hereford Square dates from the 1850s and consists of nine symmetrical, three-storey houses with a basement and attic. Each house has a two-window front. The facades are stuccoed, with channelled stucco detailing to the ground floor. Round-headed porches with balustrades of pierced masonry extend to balconies on the first floor. The end houses and the central house project slightly and feature quoins. Coupled Corinthian pilasters are present at number 31, and a pedimented attic is included in the design. The ground and first floor windows are square-headed, while the second floor windows are segmental headed with the exception of the central windows. Arched windows are found at numbers 27 and 35. A dentil cornice and blocking course run along the upper elevation, while a plain cornice is present on the west side. Iron area railings are also present.
