Description
No. 39 Harrington Gardens is a dwelling house built between 1881 and 1884 by architects Ernest George and Peto. The building features red brick with stone dressings and has a gable front. It stands five storeys tall, with three of those within the gable. To the left, there is a two-bay entrance porch that is three storeys high, complete with a carved panel above the door. The windows are mullioned and transomed, adorned with leaded lights. The gable displays sea monsters and a ship at the apex. The area balustrade is shared with No. 41. The interiors of the house remain intact and it has historical associations with W. S. Gilbert.
