Description

Numbers 18 to 21 are a row of terraced houses built between 1846 and 1847. They are made of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with stucco detailing, and their roofs are hidden by a parapet. The houses rise three storeys above a basement, each featuring two windows. The basement is stuccoed, and there are steps leading up to a round-arched entrance. This entrance has a moulded stucco architrave with pilasters and an archivolt, and the doorcase is set within a further recessed arch that includes pilaster jambs and a cornice, topped with a fanlight. Number 21 has a side entrance and a single-window range facing Coombs Street. All windows are flat-arched with moulded stucco architraves, and there is a sill band at the first floor. Number 21 features original design 6/6 sash windows on the ground floor facing Remington Street. Above the second-floor windows, there is a stucco cornice and blocking course. The houses have stacks on the party walls and are complemented by cast-iron railings at the steps and area.
