Description

Numbers 17 to 20 Vincent Terrace comprise a row of terraced houses dating to approximately 1840. The houses are constructed of yellow brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco finishes. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. Each house has three storeys over a basement and features two windows.

The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, with the ground floor scored to resemble ashlar. A round-arched entrance, featuring a moulded stucco architrave, fluted pilasters, a cornice, and a fanlight (with decorative glazing bars to numbers 19 and 20), provides access. The entrance is flanked by panelled doors of an original design. The ground floor windows are round-arched. A sill band to the first floor marks the termination of the stucco. Upper-floor windows are flat-arched, with moulded stucco architraves; those on the first floor have a cornice, and numbers 18 and 20 have iron balconies. The side elevation of number 17 features first and second floor flat-arched windows with gauged brick heads. The windows are predominantly 6/6 sash windows of the original design, found in number 17 (first floor and side elevation), numbers 18 and 20. A cornice and blocking course are present. Stacks rise above the party walls. Attached cast-iron railings are present to the area.
