TQ3183SE VINCENT TERRACE 635-1/65/891 (North side) 29/09/72 East entrance to the Islington Tunnel of the Regent's Canal, and flanking walls

GV II

Tunnel entrance or portal. 1819-20 by James Morgan, engineer to the Regent's Canal Company. Brown and yellow brick set in English bond with stone dressings. Round-arched opening with banded rustication giving the effect of voussoirs flanked by a pair of Doric pilasters; brick panel to the parapet; flanking walls with simple piers at either end.
