Description
This is a row of terraced houses, originally built in the late 18th century and now used as offices. The houses are numbers 84 to 94 on Islington High Street. They are constructed of brown brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, topped with mansard roofs covered in Welsh slate. The houses are four storeys high with a basement, and each has three windows. Numbers 84 and 88 have been painted.
Each house has steps leading up to a round-arched entrance. These entrances feature wooden doorcases with pilasters, consoles, and open pediments, although number 86 has engaged Ionic columns instead. The fanlights above the doors have decorative glazing, particularly at numbers 88-90 and 94. Original panelled doors are found at numbers 86-94. All windows have flat arches with heads made of gauged red brick. Number 88 retains its original 6/6 sash windows. A parapet runs along the roofline, and there are two pedimented dormers on each house. Chimney stacks are visible on the party walls between the houses. The front of number 94 appears to have been substantially reconstructed. Original area and forecourt railings are present, featuring urn standards and pinched spike finials.
