Description

Numbers 4 and 6 Noel Road are a pair of terraced houses built around 1840. They are of group value, reflecting their contribution to the streetscape. The houses are constructed with white brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco facades. Number 4 has a concealed roof, while Number 6 has a Welsh slate roof. Each house has three or four storeys over a basement, with two windows facing the street.

The ground floor and basement are stuccoed, with the ground floor exhibiting banded rustication. Number 4 features a recessed, single-storey porch with pilaster jambs, a cornice, a fanlight with decorative glazing, and a panelled door of original design. Number 6 has an original panelled door within a round arched entrance. The ground floor windows are round-arched, and stucco terminates at the first-floor sill band. Upper-floor windows have flat arches and balconies to the first floor. All windows are original sashes. Brick dentil cornices, likely dating to the early 20th century, are present, topped by a parapet. Number 6 has a Mansard roof with two dormers. Cast-iron railings are situated at the front area.

The rear extensions, flat-roofed and extending from both the basement and ground floor, overlook the Regent's Canal. These extensions have two basement openings with four-centred arches, two ground-floor windows with 6/6 sash windows, and pointed-arched glazing in the upper sash of these windows. A battlemented parapet completes the rear extension.
