Description
The Trafalgar Public House, built around 1845, features a ground floor that dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It is constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond, with stucco and possibly tiles, and has a roof that is obscured by a parapet. The building stands three storeys high, with a three-window range facing Remington Street and a two-window range on Nelson Place. The ground-floor pub frontage appears to be faced with tiles, which are now painted. There are flat-arched openings between pilasters, with doors and windows alternating along Remington Street, culminating in three small windows in a single-storey wing on Nelson Place. A fascia with a moulded cornice runs above. The upper storeys are flanked by quoins, which also frame the curved corner. The first- and second-floor windows are flat-arched and have moulded stucco architraves that match those on the houses in Remington Street, with a storey band at the second floor. All windows, except for the first-floor left-hand window in Nelson Place, feature 6/6 sashes of original design; the left-hand window has a raised sill. A moulded stucco cornice continues from Remington Street, and there are cast-iron railings surrounding the area. The interior has not been inspected.
