Description

This is an early 19th century cottage of two storeys and a basement, located on the south side of Wood Lane in Highgate. Originally it may have been part of a pair. The building is constructed of stock brick, with an altered stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course. It has a slated mansard roof with a dormer over the right-hand portion, and a flat roof with an iron railing to the left. The sash windows have glazing bars within wood-lined reveals and blind cases, with gauged flat brick arches above them. A four-panel door features a cornice head and a patterned rectangular fanlight. Cast iron area railings match those on the roof. The building is included on the list for its group value. The forecourt wall, railing and gates to numbers 10, 12 and the forecourt wall to number 14 form a group.
