Description
The White House is a late 17th century house with late 18th century alterations, located on Highgate High Street. It has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, featuring three windows. The front is rendered with bands at the first and second floors. The house has a high-pitched tiled roof with a wide dormer. The sash windows include glazing bars and blind cases, and there is a modern half-glazed door on the right, which is sheltered by a flat hood supported by cut brackets. Wrought iron area railings and a handrail lead to the doorsteps. The eaves cornice and original brickwork are visible behind the rendering.
Inside, the ground floor is completely panelled, and there is a large panelled room on the first floor. The late 17th century staircase features spiral balusters, a closed string, and a square section handrail.
