Description
Highgate Methodist Church and Manse with Hall behind is a late 19th-century building constructed of red brick with stone dressings. It features a high-pitched tiled roof and includes a nave, aisles, transepts, and a porch projection. At the northwest end, there is a vestry and chapel with an apsidal end, along with a projecting southeast porch. The west end of the nave has octagonal angle turrets and is designed in an Early English style, showcasing lancet windows in varying groups. The main west window consists of lancets interspersed and flanked by blank arches with colonnettes. The west door is adorned with three ranks of nook shafts and moulded arches. The adjoining manse to the north is two storeys with a basement and has four windows. It also features tall proportions, red brick with stone dressings, and a high-pitched tiled roof, with two right bays under gables. The stone mullioned and transomed windows have shouldered heads, and those on the first floor are corbelled out. The entrance has a double door with wrought iron hinges set under a pointed arch.
