Description

Hillside is a house comprising two building phases. The south part dates to the 18th century and is two stories high with two windows facing Jackson’s Lane. It is built of dark red brick and has a low-pitched slated roof. The north part, dating to the early to mid-19th century, is three stories high with three windows and is constructed of stock brick in an irregular design. The house has recessed sash windows with glazing bars, some of which have been replaced. A mid-19th century door, consisting of two long panels and now glazed, is set within flanking pilasters. A wooden canted oriel bay window projects over the entrance. The garden front is double-bowed and stuccoed, with a slated mansard roof. Stuccoed coachhouse extensions are located to the north.
