16, Broadlands Road N6

No 16 on Broadlands Road is a mid to late 19th-century house designed in the Gothic style. It has two storeys and three bays, with the side bays set on different planes beneath gables. The central bay features a three-storey square tower topped with a tall pyramidal roof that includes a small attic gable. The roofs are tiled, and the walls are made of random rubble in a crazy paving pattern, accented with free stone dressings. The chimneys are constructed from similar materials and have tall, linked battlemented hexagonal brick shafts. The house features carved and pierced bargeboards and a continuous drip moulding at the first floor. The windows are all pointed, with some being single and others paired, each topped with a quatrefoil under a wider pointed arch. Hoodmoulds with headstops adorn all windows except those in a canted bay on the ground floor to the left, which has cusped panels on the balcony above. A similar hoodmould is present over the door, which features cusped Y-tracery and nookshafts.
